Social Inequities in Health and the Sudbury & District Health Unit: Building Our Path for the Next 10 Years (October 2010): This report describes a process undertaken to develop a vision for our organization to address social inequities in health. From this vision, key milestones and actions will be set and taken to guide the Health Unit’s work for the next 10 years.

Sudbury & District Health Unit Conversations About Health Equity

The video and User Guide were released in June, 2011. In order to further share and build staff comfort with the Let’s Start a Conversation resources, the SDHU Health Equity Office organized a series of conversation sessions with staff and management.  The Sudbury & District Health Unit Conversations About Health Equity Report summarizes the key health equity themes heard from session participants, the results of the session evaluations, and a discussion of possible implications and opportunities for practice.

Using the Institut national de santé publique du Quebec (INSPQ) Deprivation Index, (Pampalonet al., 2009), the Sudbury & District Health Unit (SDHU) has recently explored a broad range of health outcomes in order to identify inequities in health outcomes across the City of Greater Sudbury. This consultation document contains a full report of our methodology using the INSPQ Deprivation Index, detailed results, and discussion questions for community stakeholders.
